SAMPLE DAYS
Depart from Paris Gare Montparnasse Vaugirard arriving in Villedieu les Poeles. Collection from the train station at Villedieu les Poeles from 3.00pm
Falaise Day: Depart for Livarot to visit the Graindorge Fromagerie. Lunch at Falaise followed by a tour of William the Conqueror’s Castle. Depart 4.00pm -return to La Fromentale 1-hour journey.
Aperitifs, soup and cheese dinner.
Tuesday is market day: Villedieu Market – Walk through the market then meet for coffee at local bar/brasserie L’Union. Wander around town walking through the little alley ways– have an aperitif at the cider stall in the market. Lunch at a local restaurant then visit the Cornell Bell Foundry to play the bells and see how they are made. Copper saucepans are made in Villedieu les Poeles and can be bought at the foundry. Cooking Class – Moules Normandie Aperitifs and moules for dinner.
Honfleur Day: Depart 8.30am visiting the ‘beau village’ of Beuvron en Auge on the way. Walk around the historic village and artists haunt of beautiful Honfleur using an audio guide. Lunch at a local restaurant. Aperitifs, soup and quiche dinner.

Mont St Michel Day: Depart at 9.00 am for Mont St Michel. On the way visit Avranches and the church of Saint Gervais. 12.00pm Pre’Sale’ Lamb dejeuner at Auberge de la Baie. 3.00pm English speaking guided tour of the abbey followed by self-discovery of the village on the island which is Mont St Michel – you might observe the tide coming in. Depart at 6.00pm for home.

Caen Day: Depart at 9.00am for a Friday Caen market. Park near the marina on Quai Vendeuvre. Wander through the city centre to the market. Passing the cathedral where William the Conqueror’s body is entombed we walk to the épicerie for olives and spices, tagines. 1.00pm Le Bistro Basque restaurant lunch to experience yummy Basque cuisine. Visit supermarché LeClerc for food browsing and explanations of products. Return to La Fromentale at 5.00p. Aperitifs and dinner.

Cancale Day: Travel via Milly to the Distillerie Coquerel to learn about Calvados and Normandia Gin. On to the seafront of Cancale to taste the oysters au naturel raised from the oyster beds in front of you that morning. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Mount Dol and it's windmill and views of the Baie of Mont St Michel.
Fougeres: Drive for an hour and twenty minutes to arrive in Fougeres, home at one time to Victor Hugo and Honore' de Balzac, in time for a coffee. Wander around this picturesque town in Brittany to the gardens above the town near the Mairie and have lunch in the square. Walk the ramparts of the town and visit the mediaeval fortress from the 14th Century.

Saturday: Sleep in. Cooked breakfast – brunch.
Take to the train from Villedieu les Poeles by 12 noon.
